how to eliminate this voltage?

i built a 12V switch driven by Arduino and instead see 0V on the load when it is not driven i have abt 3.2 to 3.4 V (with no load).



I use it to drive a 78L05 and i am not sure i need this voltage there when the circuit is open.

Any suggestions?

I don't understand your problem.

It should work ok if wired as in the schematic. Double-check the component connections.
