I built a little robot car that works with IR Remote but i have a question... Is it possible that i need to use the batteries to power the robot so the little engines work? Isnt the power from the usb port of my laptop enough? I tried making it work but it just wouldn't go anywhere, i need the robot up to standards and working until monday morning... (lavfin 2wd robot car version 1)

From the LAFVIN tutorial it seems two 18650 cells in series (~7.4V?) are needed as the power supply, plus a buck regulator. The laptop USB port provides only 5V. Depending on the voltage and current requirements of the motors, ultrasound module and servo, the laptop current output may also be inadequate.

well yes it needs those cells but in the IR remote the sensor and servo dont work... maybe but i need to keep them cause i need to show the kids coming to our highschool what we learned soooo i have to keep them. if they weren't necessary i wouldn't have kept them =)). thanks for the fast reply, i will buy tomorrow those batteries and try again
