Imaging processing using DE2 board

I currently planning to do hand gesture to control a RC car by using DE2 as the interfacing. I want to use Infrared camera to detect the hand gesture so that it works well at night. Does anyone knoe is that posible to connect infrared camera to the DE2 board? Better is sumone can give me the idea about the interface between the De2 and the camera in order to reduce more delay time.
