Click to expand... Is the 8051 a micro-controller?, if so probably all you need is to write the software?. A software UART is simple to write for any micro (even the Commodore VIC-20 used one all those years ago!).

I very much doubted that you know anything about 8051. You don't even know all 8051 family come with hardware UART as standard.
