Is calibration required for frequency compensation on an LM1370 switching regulator?

I'm working on a project that involves the use of an LM1370 switching regulator to power a yaesu VX-3R ham radio used for packet communication. Based on tests, it's been observed that the radio can't transmit a clear enough signal at low battery voltages. Although it doesn't say explicitly on the datasheet, I'm wondering if any of the components, primarily for frequency compensation, need calibration.
 
If the compensation circuits have been designed properly then the design margin should be sufficient to accommodate normal component tolerances and shouldn't require calibration.

What is the regulator output at low battery voltage? Is the regulator supposed to operate normally at that voltage?
