I need to know if less than about 300mA (+/-100mA) is flowing in a sense resistor which is being monitored by a LTC6101 current monitor IC.
The sense resistor is 0.025 ohms
The high side resistor of the LTC6101 circuit is 270R
The output resistor of the LTC6101 circuit is 6800 ohms
With 300mA in the sense resistor , that means just a measly 27uA of current flowing in the output resistor that’s connected to the LTC6101……27uA is tiny, ..will this be possible to detect the 300mA with any degree of accuracy whatsoever?
The low offset and corresponding large dynamic range of
the LTC6101 make it more flexible than other solutions in
this respect. The 150μV typical offset gives 60dB of dynamic
range for a sense voltage that is limited to 150mV
max, and over 70dB of dynamic range if the rated input
maximum of 500mV is allowed.
