Probably a rather dumd question but can't understand it. a while ago members of this board helped me identity a chip that turned out to be a thermal fuse that had blown on a transformer - input main, output 8.4v. They suggested that i short across bypassing the fuse but nothing worked. so i thought that i would test further so I put a continuity test across each end of the windings and not problems - see pic below. continuity acros A & B and also across C & D. So what can the problem be? Am I missing something obvious? Can't understand why the thing woun't work, but then I am only starting with electronics so any help would be very gratefully recieved.
thanks in advance
