jk vs df-flop compact solution question HELPPPPPPPPPPPP

i designed various ccts using jk and d flip flops, and the jk had more complexity to it but resulted in less gates therfore more compact solution. but does this always true?

can you give me a reason?
since it is hard to understand due that the JK has more inputs, has X conditions therefore providing a better compact solution

dont know. i thin it is D f-f since it is usually made of D f-f only?
