justDIY Active Member Apr 3, 2006 #2 the anti-rust coating of steel and aluminum cans shouldn't present a problem to the voltages described in this website: **broken link removed** I think steel cans are vinyl coated on the inside, breakdown voltage is only 1000 or 2000v (IIRC)
