L239D and Brake (dc motor driver)

Hi, I must build a dc motor driver with Turn Right - Turn Left and BRAKE .
The l293 have only fast stop and when motor release free!!!

How can i brake the dc motor?

hi,
Are you asking for a way for the motor to hold its position after stopping even when there is an external turning force being applied to the motor shaft.?

How are you controlling the L293.?

You need to use a stepped motor to lock up completely.

The L293 features a break, see figure 9 on page 6 of the data sheet.

It is down now. i set my motor on for 25us and 25us off then i unuse it and brake happened.

use chip select to low will be useful to brake the motors. i think this is enough to run and off the motor for your desired time.
 
you can brake the motor simply by making the inputs to the driver to the same logic???
