For my program i will be using a digital input to activate the acquisition of signals. The digital pulse lasts for a few seconds and then goes low. I want the acquisition to begin when the pulse goes high and continue on even the pulse goes low.

A lot of DAQ cards will have a trigger input that you can use to start aquisition.
