I need help with a simple circuit. I am looking to make an LED headtorch for a college assignment, and need the it to have a maximum brightness and a dimmer brightness.

Please can you help me with how I achieve this? I'm looking to run the torch off 2 AA batteries.

Thanks for your time.

Pete

two aa batteries is not much if you're wanting to build a white torch ... red leds would work good, but white would be dim - unless you build some sort of step-up power supply

regardless .. for two brightness levels ... how about a single pole double throw switch, with center off ... just use two different current limiting resistor values ... less resistance for bright, more resistance for dim.

Shouldn't students do their own research about a project?
Then they can ask questions about it if they want.
