I was given a few years ago a packet of aprox 50 LED's and thought I would use them BUT the note with them sayz

"blue 3mm 3v3 .048w"

Can anyone please tell me what they are and how to calculate what mA they are

Cheers Steve

They're blue LEDs, 3mm diameter, with a 3.3V voltage across them when passing current. The maximum current allowed is .048/3.3 = 0.014A = 14mA.

Thanks for the reply

WOW thats low when you consider what some are off the shelf

So 3v0 blue LED at .06w would be .06/3 = .02 = 20mA (hopefully)

Cheers steve
