We need to construct a pressure sensing switch (triggered by 1 KGF) inside a a 25mmx10mmx4mm silicone pad. Thin film pressure sensors we had found are too difficult to be embedded in the silicone pad. We thought about cutting a cave inside the pad and place two copper films on the top and the bottom of that cave. That proved to be challenging too.
Can anyone please advise a better way to achieve our goal?
Fit two tilt sensors inside the silicone. Suitable filtering will tell you when they aren't pointing in the same direction when the silicone pad is distorted by pressure.
Of course, that assumes that the pressure is in one place. If it's all around, such as deep underwater, that won't work.

Force will mostly come vertically either from the top or the bottom. Please be advised that the triggering force to turn the switch on/off is 1 kilogram force to 2 KGF.

Our silicone pad is not a fluid gel. It's softer and smaller but similar to a silicone heat pad.
