Hi everybody,

I´m trying to repair a Man motherboard (Böning). It has a problem with power supplying to sensors from engine, is the only information I have, no schematics, no connections info...

I did a cold testing with multimeter and LCR and everything seem to be right but there is a component which I don´t find any information: Matsushita AGC1213. It has 5 pin. I need the datasheet or at least some kind of function info.

Also if somebody has information about board connections would be great!!!

Some pictures:

Thanks.

Most Matsushita industrial part numbers are not readily available for search.
I think the AGC xx series Ic's were drivers/detectors that have been discontinued for some time. Your best bet is to try contacting Panasonic Industrial Automation tech support and hope for the best. Depending on the product, they may or may not archive datasheets. I have used them for discontinued relays and had good luck in response.https://na.industrial.panasonic.com/products/industrial-automation

Hi Vtech,

I already asked to Panasonic in Spain yesterday, let´s see if they answer... The only useful documentation I found at Internet was this:

https://www3.panasonic.biz/ac/e_download/service/production_completion/pdf/completion_2010-1.pdf

It´s saying it´s discontinued since 2010 and it was a relay... No equivalent component available.

That is the only component I don´t know on this board, which is 4000€. I think I have found a SMD Sot-23 A8F component damaged, I have to test it again with more time. Just in case I don´t find anything wrong I would like to know more about this AGC1213 which I guess is not possible to buy anymore but maybe is possible to test it. Thanks for your help.

You can pulse the coil and measure contact resistance between pin 2&3 if not already closed.
It is a bi-coil latching relay that was discontinued in 2010.

It should possible to replace with an equivalent latching relay that may be a larger size.

**broken link removed**

The A8F is just an NPN darlington switch which you can replace with the ULN200x type with a suitable "ECN"

For improved reliability consider the application and add an MOV across the contacts. Most likely it is energizing a motor or pump and arcing may occur when opened.

I'll be glad to evaluate your repair.. onboard...;)

Of course it may be a some other bug that caused the time duration >>1 second to be extended and the Darlington to over heat and the Relay might be OK if in fact the A8F is blown. Calculate the Watt expected from Coil Rs and Vdrop on A8F and look further for a root cause.

Thanks Tony,

I´ll tell you something when I check the board again, as I have different equipments being repaired I couldn´t check yet. I´m also waiting if a partner is supplying me I/O board signals which would be a good thing.
