I have a minicircuit with a PIC + 24lc64 + ds1820 (data logger : d.l. ) powered by a 3.6V battery; and, on the other and I have a minicircuit with a max232 for COM1 communication.

The problem I have is : when I attach the max232 minicircuit to the data logger the PIC sometimes is reseted and I lose the info on the memory :(

I have tried by using a 100uF cap and 0.1uF decoupling capacitors on the dl w/o positive results.

Any idea about what could be wrong?

I assume thiis Tis your design and you can change it.

The code must be setup to erase (start at the begining of) the eprom every time the PIC resets?

If so make it more difficult to rease the EEPROM. Maybe a push button that you have to press 5 times or some complex handshake over the RS232 interface.

If I am off base then provide more details. Code. schematic.
