I was reading its datasheet carefully (Max485 SOIC 8pin) for a tight speced application . But I couldnt see how much current driver consumes while transmitting? Absolute maximum provide a 471mW figure .
When seeing SN75176 datasheet it clearly says a +/-60mA , or 120ma*5V or 600mW .But it says at 70C , 464W power dissipation for D package? and veev more for P package?
why the Maxim datasheet so obscure?

Ok I just want to know how much current is MAX485 consuming maximum?
