I would like to build an audio circuit for model railway use, the idea is to enhance the movement of engines with real sounds, there is a DCC system that uses generated sound on each loco but it does not sound good and costs a fortune.
I think the way it would work I record sounds as MP3 files on a memory card, I then put the card into the circuit then manually choose the sounds I require,
Loco stationary with the hiss of the blower
Blower stops, then whistle blows
Loco moves of with chuffing sounds
Loco slows down with brake squeal
So I need a circuit that has a card slot, some way of identifying the separate MP3 files a push button to play, and an amplifier to drive a speaker also volume control.
I have made circuits in the past but need help with this idea, can anyone help?
Thanks
Mike
