i am in my final year of engineering, i have gone through 8051 books.. like scott machenze.and micro controller projects in C++. now i need to do some real.. projects in 8051 family can u guide. me as what to do which. could help me to build my overall skills of.8051... i hope u will help me..

Probably because he's been polite :lol: and not writing in his native tongue, as his location shows. I wouldn't have the faintest idea how to address a request in his language, so I think it's a little unfair to criticise, even though you did attempt to add a 'smiley'. But again, working in a foreign language he's probably not going to understand that very well.

As you have neglected to fill your location in, we don't have a clue where you might be from 8)

Ohh yea, I've been based in Colombo most of my life but now. I'm an EEE student @ the Uni of Leeds and will be back in September. Got started on PICs @ Uni and now I've got my very own credit card sized custom programmer - just waiting for my 'half a credit card length' sized SMT programmer to arrive from my supplier. Franky I'm really bad @ speaking my mother tounge, can't write and can bearly speak...english is pretty much the main language I use other than a little bit of japanese (which I plan to exapand on quite a bit in the future)

edit: I don't know about you guys but today I was reading some stuff here and my mom walked in and one of the banner adds went all porno on me...great. I wonder if some higher ups here could maybe *filter* these ads (I know you get money but pffft...) Wouldn't want to access Electro Tech from a public/uni computer...

With due respect i am very pleased that i forgot. to add Madam in my pervious post.Well by the way i am from Islamabad /Pakistan.and my mother tongue is URDU.I have made found some related site to get some 8051 projects.Well today i was searching the same that i found PIC more frequently used that 8051.when i searched more i was able to get a conclusion that it is more..easy to use..well i want havea suggestion as is this the.truth.I mean is PIC is more efficient than 8051 or. it is just easy to use.how could we make a difference between 8051 and PIC in respect of its performance.?? what do u suggest..??? let me know... suggest any good book in PIC....??

about your question. choosing between PIC or 8051 is clearly a matter of choice. u can do alot with both of them. i would recommend learning both of them. 8051 is the most popular and most used microcontroller architecture used today and there are many manufacturers that make the 8051. while PIC microcontrollers are only manufactured by Microchip. plus there are a number of derivatives of the 8051 out there in the market which also have the functionality of PICs. its hard to say which is easy to use and efficient. as far as availability is concerned u can buy PICs and 8051s easily from college road (rawalpindi) so thats not much of a problem.

go to https://www.epanorama.net/links/microprocessor.html and read as much as u can about the PIC and 8051. im starting out with microcontrollers myself and i plan to study both the PIC and 8051. im going to learn 8051 first because its included in our course in the next semester. then ill move on to PICs.
