Hi,

I am trying to build an ac light dimmer but there is one problem:
I checked the datasheet of the moc3021 and found more dimmer circuits on the internet but non of them tell the wattage of the resistors used. Here:

**broken link removed**

the guy uses 1k 0.25W resistor at the output of the moc3021 (shown as R12), but in the datasheet it says 100mA for output current, which means that 1k resistor should be 10W. I am really confused, what do you think?

Thanks

100mA is the maximum possibly current the device can supply, that doesn't mean it will do so in this case.

Generally if resistor ratings aren't given it means they are 1/4W.
