My Nextech talking voltmeter quit talking

I bought the talking VOM from Radio Shack as I am legally blind and have difficulty reading an LCD screen. This one still measures correctly but the voice doesn't say much except wrong information. The batteries are new and the pushbutton on the probe acts screwy too.
Any thoughts or ideas?
