need an equivalent component

the part i am looking for is from a sony ps2 ver9, attached is a pic of a version 7 ps2 but it's the same part.

is this part a capacitor or resistor ?
any idea what would be a suitable replacement ?

It's a capacitor.
the shade of brown is a (vague) indication of it's value...but to know the exact value you need a scematic.

It's probabely used to reduce noise on a digital line, if so, then the value isn't all that critcal.
