Need help identifying 3/4HP motor lead wires

As it's dual voltage, I'd expect it to have two main windings that can be connected in series for 240V or parallel for 120V, plus the start winding which has the capacitor in series; also the centrifugal switch at one end or the other.

The typical wiring for the main windings would be like 1-3 for one and 2-4 for the other; links on 1-2 and 3-4 put them in parallel for 120V, or a link on 2-3 puts them in series for 240V. The numbers are likely in sequence like that, but start higher.

Plus possibly other linking terminals.

Can you add a photo of the terminal side of the board with whatever terminal markings it has?

I think I can see 4 wires coming from the left hand side of the winding. I think two of them are brown but I can't tell the colour of the other 2. I think these 4 are the 2 main winding. I think the the 2 wires from the right hand side will be the start winding. Do you want to use the motor with 120 volts or 240 volt supply ? The start winding will have the centrifugal switch and start capacitor connected in series with it. When the motor is wired for 240 volts the start winding is supplied with 120 volts by connecting it (Including the centrafugal switch and capacitor.) to the junction of the the 2 main windings in series and one of the other ends of the main winding. (The 2 main winding in series act like an auto transformer to provide 120 volts for the start winding.) can you draw a schematic of how it is wired. Do you have a multimeter to measure resistance and AC voltage in case we need to identify the ends of the windings ?

The very first thing I would do is identify all windings that are separate from each other, and all respective resistance values.

Hi, Thanks for all the replies! I got the motor running now; there were several poor connections so I cut off and replaced all the terminals on all the wires and replaced both line terminal bolts as they were corroded as well and after identifying all the lead wires using resistance tests , rewired them directly to the 2 new bolts that I installed on the starter switch plate excluding one of the start winding leads which of course has to be connected to the start switch and the motor runs perfectly now. The top side of the starter switch board had some convenient jumpers with screws to make it quick and easy to change from 120 to 240v but all that was corroded so I had to get rid of it all.
