need unidirection IR led

im building a project wita a gun and i cant find a unidirectional IR LED, that is an IR led that only allows the IR light to go on way, like a tv remote where you have to actually aim.

Many TV remotes use multiple IR LEDs.

Narrow beam IR LED

It sounds like you need a LED that has a very narrow beam. I think 10 degrees is about a tight as you will find.

I believe a 10 degree LED will focus to about 4 feet in diameter at about 15 feet.

If you need a very narrow beam (spot on) look into infraded lasers.
