I recently got this old fan which does work but the buttons on the switch were very sticky and didn't want to move freely. Someone had painted over all the decals but I could make out that it is a Lasko model 8920. There was a sucker on the motor but it is completely unreadable. I know the fan's switch operates 5 modes: off, high, low, forward, and reverse. It has 5 wires coming out: 1 black, 2 whites, and 2 reds (possibly) it's really hard to tell as they are so old and worn. The fan really moves a lot of air and I thought it would be a fun project. Any help at all on how I could wire this to new switches would be greatly appreciated. The old switch says ARK-LES Switch Corp. It also has a 3MFD capacitor which did test out to be good. Thank you
