Omega cn606 temperature monitor anyone work on one or access to schematic ?
I get all the uncommon ones to work on.
This didn't come back completely on after being powered off for a day . normally on 24/7 .
I asumed it was the st micro ram with a lithium battery epoxied into a case that surround's the ic.
I find operators manuals but no tech data.
It most likely was made by someone else.
I esr caps in circuit.
I replaced the ram..
Not all the display will work or temp function.
I can't figure out how to test the internal battery.from what I read inputs and outputs are shut off to retain battery life and memory.
So second thought if not the RAM is maybe some reset isn't functioning.
On the inputs it has smd jyw. Either GO or 09 on the end. I assume for input esd control.
From search cross to bav199 two diodes in series
The reference on the board is DN. What does DN stand for?
I only mention this as one JYW is in the power supply section must be a voltage divider.
This is a multi layer board so I can't follow most of the lines.

This looks like VERY old technology?, I would imagine that if the battery has gone flat, then it probably requires reprogramming?, as whatever was stored in the memory chip will have been lost. This sounds likely, as it failed after been powered down for a while.
The last I saw anything like this was back in the1980's?.
That software appears to be the Windows interface software for accessing the data, not internal software for the units - which is VERY, VERY unlikely to be available.
I would imagine, for units that old, that tech support has long since ceased - particularly for units with batteries in, that will only have a limited life time.
I try that next week.on leave from work.
I do greatly appreciate all information.
Maybe omega will respond.
Any other reponces will appreciated.
I find out if they don't already have a computer set up with the program if this is not a standalone
Most any tech support is not very technical.
Been reparing electronics since late 60s.
Proprietary I could hardly pronounce that word now it's daily language.
I would have to guess the stored configuration is there. If the memory is
large it may have held "firmware".
These were discontinued several years ago with repairs available. There may
be several sources available 3rd party after they were discontinued.
If you have programming tied up in the unit it may be worth a try.
Else we offer replacement series CN616A which looks the same and has same
functionality plus some extra features
Unit has RS485 and RS232 as well.
Program is not interchangeable though.
We offer free "Sync" program to data log and set configuration.

Pretty well what you would expect for an old long obsolete unit - my issue was the huge size of the battery backed RAM - it looks more 'firmware sized' than 'settings storage' sized. However, one alternative possibility would be settings storage PLUS storing data readings for later download.
