Who is interested in doing this? The only ISP programmer I can seem to find for AT89S is Atmel's parallel port ISP programmer. Most modern computers have done away with parallel ports so figure we can come up with a USB programmer.
My idea was to use a PIC18F45K50 as the main controller, along with a 24LC512 64KB I2C EEPROM as the hex file buffer. The PC will send the hex file to the 18F which will load it into the I2C EEPROM. Then the PIC can parse the hex file from EEPROM out to the AT89S.
Anyone want in on this? Post your ideas below.
