I wish to write a journal/paper, and i do have some ideas in me. My mind is full of mysteries about papers, journals and conferences, creating confusion inside me about the differences in between them. I badly need to do something different, i thought writing a paper would be so. Can anyone help me get-out of it? I do want to know which is suitable for me.
I also request someone to help me getting started with it.
Well, my mind is full of mysteries about what your knowledge/abilities are. It's rather hard to recommend something suitable for you without knowing that.
Hi ,
Well... In reality, i posses all the required ability.
I would like to know whats the difference between them ^ .
My contribution will be like a new idea, that would hopefully serve the mankind, though it would require further modification and research.
A Paper.
Written words describing some work or investigation which has been done by an individual or a team, usually on a very specific subject.
A Journal.
Two possible meanings here I think.
1 A record of work done, usually written up on a daily basis. More usually referred to as a log book or a diary.
2 A regular publication, usually by a learned society such as the IET ot IEEE which contains amongst other things papers which have been prepared various authors.
A Conference.
A meeting of like-minded individuals where scientific and technical matters are discussed and papers are presented by their authors.
Often held at a plush 5 star hotel, where the delegates my spend their companies money with gay abandon!
H! JimB,
That was clear for me.
Since i had the membership, i went through some conferences papers and journal paper in IEEE website. Technically, i didnt find major differences between them(i mean in terms of writing them).
Now, i pose a question ' Why do people choose journal/conference, if both are meant for same? '. What about their cost, and success rates and which is more effective?
