Google for it, there are many examples out there - but to be any use it's neither trivial or cheap.

Also keep in mind that half the project is in the PC software to use it, unless you're going to get ahold of an existing package with a well-specified hardware interface and carefully make your hardware capable of working with that software.

Are you trying to use the ADC on the soundcard, or an external ADC interfaced through Parallel Port, Serial Port, USB, Card Slot, etc???

Serial ports can't measure analog signals. Please stop using textspeak.
