Hi,

I need to drive some leds with a pic - say the 16F877a which has a max VDD/VSS current of 300ma/250ma with a 200ma restriction on certain port combinations.
No single pin will be loaded with more that 15ma.

Any suggestions as to what the maximum practical continuous load that could be applied while retaining good life to the chip.
( want to avoid using external drivers )

My general rule of thumb on maximum loads is 50% of rated but have no experience of heavy loads on pic chips.

thanks
