i want to make a line follower robot with pic 12f683. The Vref for A/D is Vdd. Can i use 3 small clock bateries (1.5v)? or the curent should be regulated for a good conversion?

For a crude purpose like a line follower that would be fine (you really need very little accuracy or resolution!), if you want to use the A2D for anything accurate, you should use an external precision voltage reference, rather than Vdd.
