Nope you are right too. Or we are both wrong. I think the I stands for industrial and the P is for DIP. This is from my failing memory.Sorry I must have been posting same time 3v0 was , maybe I wrong on what the I/P stands for.
The eagle PIC16F628P part should work
Microchip uses the I/P sufix to indicate DIP packages, I think that is where the P sufix on the part came from.
