PIC18F24K20 interface with itegno 3832 modem with sim card inside to send sms.

I connected Tx and Rx of PIC18F24K20 to MAX232 IC T1IN and R1OUT respectively. With T1OUT and R1IN to DB9 modem of Pin 2 and 3 respectively.

GSM Modem:
Short Pin 7 and 8 ; also short Pin 1, 4 and 6. Ground Pin 5.

I'm stucked till here. Seeking for help.
