hello there!

I'm currently working on a project study concerning power line communications.

In my study, I have made a Tx/Rx system using 565 (PLL) and they are working just fine.

Now I'm having troubles on how to isolate the 60Hz of power lines from the signal that I will be transmitting. Do you have any idea about that? Can I request for some schematics if you have some?

Thanks a lot... it will be a great help.

I'm guessing you are using ~100Khz? You will need ferrite isolation transformers, with high-voltage isolation from primary to secondary. It is common to resonate the secondary. Some consumer products like baby intercoms use this method.

Be Damn Carefull.

hello there!

Yes. I'm using 100kHz. Thanks for the help. If you have some schematics for this, can you send me some. I am definitely newbie with this. And for the ferrite isolation transformer, will it be hand-wounded or are there ready-made transformers for this application?

I really appreciate your help.

You would probably need to wind them yourself, such old technology was pretty well dropped back in the 70's and 80's.

What about just using a pulse transformer?

It could be connected to the mains via small RF supression capacitors.
