Problem with Optical Fiber Detection

Hi experts,
Who have used laser optical fiber detection before?
I am thinking of buying an optical fiber detector to check electrical board during experiment. However, nobody around me have used it before.
Is it very convenient to use? I don't know what other application of this detector. who can tell more about this gadget?

Can you link an example? Do you mean a laser fiber optic sensor such as made by Keyence, Sunx, Omron, etc?

Hi, I found a low powered 1mW optical fiber detector at LaserTo. It can make a easy test of fiber optic within 2-5km.
It is just a pen style detector.
