What is quadrature output?
How do I use this to decode an incoming IR signal? I have four points to which this(LM 567 quad output) will respond to, corresponding to four different functions.

Please help here.

Also if possible, provide a sample/example circuit for such a device.

The 567 is generally used as a tone decoder. That is to say when an input frequency is the same as the circuit parameters the IC has an output. But it can be used as precision oscillator and a VCO. Quadrature in this case means 90 degree phase difference.
Perhaps the data sheet will provide you with more information.

If the input signal has quadrature components, you can seperate them using synchronous rectifiers. Each rectifier will be driven by a quadrature signal. A divide by 4 Johnson counter will produce the 90 degree signals.
