Quick circuit breaker question

Can a small breaker like this one:

Be used with a DC circuit? I see it is rated for 120/240 VAC. I have a 24VDC circuit I would like to use it on. Just thought i'd ask before I order

I just happen to have a GC catalogue so I looked up the specs. Maximum 50V DC. So it should work fine one 24V

That doesn't mean that all circuit breakers designed for AC will work on DC and vice verse. It the circuit breaker is magnetic, it's quite likely that it will trip at a lower current if it's run on DC and a higher current on AC.

The chances are this breaker uses thermal current sensing so it won't make any difference.

Also be warned about thermal breakers, the colder they are the higher the tripping current will be. Normally this is fine as circuit can carry more current when cold, the only problem is if the circuit breaker is placed in a cooler environment than the rest of the circuit.
