Receiver in standby mode

Hi,
Has anyone ever tried to use a receiver in standby mode?
Is it possible to receive a signal in standby mode?
Im trying to use FM-RRFQ1-433 in standby mode (pin15 connected to ground)
but i can't receive anything!

That's because 'standby mode' is turned OFF!.

Ok, is there a way to enable standby mode?
(Standby Mode (max 100nA))

connect it to ground? To enable it, just connect the pin to V+

Standby mode might be used so that the circuit can be awakened much quicker than if it had to completely power up.
It is a pity that the manufacturer says hardly anything about his product.

It is used for power save mode. What you do is wake the radio up long enough to detect if there is a valid signal to be recieved. If not, you make it sleep for a predetermined time. Once a signal is detected during wake time, logic (provided externally) will keep the radio awake long enough to recieve the desired signal. Once the carrier drops, it goes back to sleep and the cycle repeats. The duty cycle will equal your power savings. A PIC or other micro can be programmed to toggle the pin as required. Sleep mode will make the radio slower to respond to a signal. The longer the duty cycle, the slower it will be, but you'll save more power.
This is a common technique used in portable radios to make the battery last longer.

Smoke detectors do the same thing. Sleep, wake up , check for smoke, check the battery state by pulsing the LED, go back to sleep.
