I have a problem not specifically relating to an electronic circuit but quite related. I do a lot of work in glove boxes which are maintained at extremely low humidity. When dealing with powders, static ionization can make precise weighing and other manipulations very frustrating. Due to the fact that these powders are insulators, and their containers are also insulators, grounding objects does not seem to reduce the static ionization of the powders.
There are anti-static products available to reduce ionization in the glove boxes atmosphere, however they are prohibitively expensive. ex. https://www.sigmaaldrich.com/catalog/product/aldrich/z563064?lang=en®ion=US
I wonder if anyone has any ideas that can be improvised. Specifically I am wondering if a cheepo "Ionic air purifier" may reduce the problem.
