remote controlled electronic scoreboard

i would like to build a scoreboard that would be remotely operated for displaying 4 numbers.
the receiver and transmitter r PIC operated....and IR radiations are used.
Can anyone provide me with a suitable circuit for receiver and transmitter....

My PIC tutorials provide IR remote control for PIC's.
