removing and replacing a 1/4 inch phone jack

i have a guitar pedal like the one in the picture attached, and i was wondering if i take out the middle phone jack thats used as a control in and use it to replace one of the other jacks and not put anything in place of it would it still work? Also does anyone know where i might be able to get these jalco 1/4 inch jacks like the ones in the other picture or somthing similar?

Depends on exactly what type 1/4" phone jack it is. Jacks like that come in a variety of flavors (configurations). If for example the jack has a N/C connection that opens when external control is used then removing it would open that connection and it would need to be wired around it.
