Hello all,

It's been a while since my last post and I have a question for the guru's out
there.
I have a chaser light kit that had been put together and worked fine.
Through bad storing on my part the crystal that was on it broke off and there
isn't enough of 1 lead to put it back on. I need a new one.
It's a 12v dc kit using a pre-programmed ic for 10 patterns.
The ONLY spec that came with the kit for the crystal was the it is
a x'tal crystal that is 12 mhz.
The place I got this from has long since been out of business and I can't seem
to locate this specific crystal.
So I put it to the guru's, can I use pretty much and 12 mhz crystal in it's place so the chaser light kit will work again?????????????

Yes, you can use any 12 MHz crystal. You don't need good frequency accuracy, so the load capacitance of he crystal doesn't matter.

At 12 MHz, all but some very expensive crystals are fundamental.
