Click to expand... If you memorise the colour code (or look it up) you will see that brown is 1, that is how many zeroes to add to the end of the number. So 3, 3, 1 = 330 (one zero added).

RODALCO Well-Known Member Jul 25, 2006 #5 Correct, and if you have a reliable DMM you can always double check the value on the ohms range. Sometimes the orange, brown and red can be hard to differentiate on certain batches of R's.
