Our particular requirement is that the connector have a metal contact on both sides of the jaw - the Cliff products (as above) have a single metal contact and a plastic rocker that holds down the wire. We need to connect a flat enameled copper wire which is scraped clean on one side only - therefore we need a two-sided connection so that the orientation of the wire is not important.
The older style of safe block (as sold by RS) used to have an all-metal connector, and were ideal - however these are no longer manufactured.
Does anyone know of other manufacturers/suppliers, besides Cliff, who make a similar mains test connector block?
Thanks guys. The Wagos are good, but might be a bit fiddly - however they might be worth considdering.
Funily enough, the item in that ebay link is identical to the ones curently in use (although ours have an RS sticker where this has a picture of a seahorse). Sadly long since out of production.
I was expecting to find hoards of cheap imitations on Banggood etc, but it seems not... maybe Cliff enforce their patents hard?
