seismic sensors

hello friends....
i have been working on detection of epicenter.....and i am stucked on which sensor to be used for wave detection.....?????can condensor mike be
used...????how practically the vibrations be given if made a circuit for finding repicenter?????

Frequency is too low for conventional microphone. I would use a moving magnet in a coil, or a strain gauge connected on a pendulum.

There is at least one hobbyist-targeted book on seismic instrumentation. It was back in the late 1980s or 1990s and published by TAB books. Sock "seismograph" into the Amazon search engine and see what pops up. Seismic sensors are usually pretty big, either going deep into the earth or stretching across several feet in a pit.

To find the epicenter I think you have to have several, located miles apart so you can do timing triangulation.
