Hi guys,

I just would like to know what is a self-resonant coil actually?
Is it a coil wich the capacitance effect is added to it by shaping it or something so, so that we get free to use an external capacitor to cause the resonance of the inductor-capacitor??

Thanks beforehand

A self-resonant coil is one that relies on the turn-to-turn parasitic capacitance to resonate with its own inductance.

Hi and thanks sir for your reply.
Is the parasitic capacitance the other name for stray capacitance??
What is the benefit of a such coil instead of using a common LC circuit?
