sensor resistor for L298

Hi everybody,

in the 7th page of the L298 datasheet , we suggest that the sense resistor be not of a wire wound type, why this particular kind of resistors is excluded ?, do the commun resistors do the work ?

Hi,

a wire wound resistor is also an inductance, not desired to measure true voltage drop for current sensing.

Best bet is a metal film resistor of low temperature drift.
