Ocean water is salty and conducts a lot of electricity. My tap water conducts a little electricity. Distilled (pure) water does not conduct.

tq to all members.. actually my project is development capacitive sensor to detect existing liquid, for example detect oil, detect water, detect sea. When sensor detect liquid, it will give data output at LCD

Which is not what you said in your first post:
a sensor to detect type of water

When sensor detect liquid, it will give data output at LCD
What data will it give to the LCD?

Have a look here for a bit of discussion on oil/water detection using a capacitive probe.
