serial printer

Hello,

Does anybody knows how to interface 89C51 to serial printer
(WIPRO WeP LX 800 BX)directly?
How can printer know the command from 89C51 that it's for font setting, margin setting, start/stop printing and etc?
Any information from you is helpful to me.

Assuming it's NOT a Windows printer, then you just send it serial data, which will be expalined in the instructions with the printer - if it IS a Windows printer (as most are now) then you need to connect it via a Windows computer.
