simple circuit

i need a simple meaningfull circuit which can submitted as course project with maximum three transistor and without ICs.

Look up AudioGuru's FM transmitter in these forums. I believe it uses 3 transistors and no IC's. Besides, if you type three transistor circuit into your web browser, you should get many return links of possible projects to construct. Do your own homework! But if you can't muster up the time nor effort, here a couple to start you off:

My FM transmitter uses a 5V low-dropout voltage regulator IC to keep it from changing its frequency as the battery runs down.

Maybe he can forget the transmitter section and build just the 5V low-dropout voltage regulator using three transistors!!
